Recently I have been slightly obsessed with Tulips. Last week I was watching CBS’s Sunday Morning and they had a fascinating show about Amsterdam and there was a segment about Tulips. Fun Fact- Tulips were originally cultivated in the Ottoman Empire, present day Turkey. They were imported and were very popular in Holland. Often times, gardens would be raided and bulbs stolen. It became a popular flower seen in paintings and became a symbol of wealth.
I bought this dress from Anthropologie a while back but it’s become one of my favorites because it’s so comfy and pretty. Plus the Tulip detailing on the bodice and the bottom of the dress elevate the dress to a different level of pretty! The other reason this dress is perfect is because it’s a maxi too and the tiered skirt is very playful and flattering.
I teamed it up with a Lorenza Gandaglia Raffia bag. I love Flower prints in all sorts of mediums. I have Botanical prints up on my walls and have flowers on my pencils!
Tulips, this spring, in New York City. These were in seen around the New York City Zoo in Central Park. I just loved the deep purple color and how magnificently they had bloomed!
Last week I was perusing Target’s website and I was so surprised to find a similar dress! Isn’t that wild! It was just so funny that I found this while I was building this post! At 59.99 this is a steal for sure! Fashion is so often imitated and reproduced. I always get stunned when I find a doppelgänger of clothes!
