Mother’s Day Kaftan Party!

Mother’s Day is a special time and this year I wanted to put something together for my fave mommy friends! Having moved around the US ever since I got married, I really value my mommy tribe and wanted to do something extra special. So I decided to throw a Kaftan Party!

Inspired by my roots, I wanted to put India in the spotlight and tailored the whole party with a colorful array of yummy offerings with a heavy dose of Indian design!

When my husband and I moved to Florida we found this amazing silver charpoy at a consignment store. (The charpoy is a traditional Indian bed.) I had seen these at ABC Home and I was so pumped to see it on the floor hiding in the corner that I told my husband that we just had to have it! We use it as a table in a family room because it’s so low and perfect for Armaan.

I teamed up the silver charpoy with my red Kashmiri carpet with deep Indigo pillows.

For the table setting, I wanted to mix and match pieces I owned and create a super bohemian vibe. As for the placemats, I loved the bright tassel ones from here.  I love Good Earth and used my plates as a bottom plate and these ones as the top dessert plate. I loved the colors of these napkins as they seamlessly fit so well with the patterns and color scheme! I didn’t think I would ever use the gold cutlery (that I received as a wedding gift!) but they went so well with the whole theme. You can find something similar here. I love the Morrocan tea glasses and you can find something similar here. The teapot was a house warming gift from Anthropologie.Sadly it’s not available anymore.

I had picked up these bronze metal napkin holders from Napeansea but you can find some similar here.

Since I kept the whole menu simple I loved using this two-tier platter from Target. You can get something similar here I find that they come in handy for all sorts of events!

So I kept the menu simple with a bunch of Indian delicacies! There was a mix of sweet and savory treats that my friends could taste.  The Limeade from Trader Joes was very refreshing! It’s so delicious!

Of course , my little pudding had to come and grab a treat (or two!) He’s so adorable! He went straight for the ladoos!
